When creators book their trips (and why June is already too late)
· 3 min read

There is a pattern we see in dozens of conversations with hoteliers. Interest in creator collaborations wakes up when the hotel empties out. Which is exactly when it is too late to build anything.
The creators' calendar
Creators do not decide on impulse. A trip means production: travel, shooting, editing, a publishing schedule. Most of them book their autumn trips during the summer, and their spring trips over the winter. International audiences book even earlier.

If you want your hotel to appear in videos in September, the collaboration is set up in June and July. If you want coverage for opening in May, you start working on it in February.
Why content needs a head start
There is a second reason. A video does not pay off the day it goes up. It builds views over time, it enters searches, it gets saved. The traveller who saves it today books two or three months later. A video posted in August sells in October, when you have already closed.
The right cycle runs against instinct: you host creators in the low and shoulder season, and the content works for the next high season.
Getting the timing right is also the cheapest
The irony is that the right timing is also the cheapest. In the weeks when you have empty rooms, hosting a creator costs you very little. In high season it costs you real revenue. The calendar that suits your books is the same one that suits the creators.
In practice
Open up next season's availability now. On easyInfluencer.travel you do that with Open Stays for the dates you want covered, and the Trip Board shows you which creators have already declared a trip to your destination. Winter collaborations are booked now. May's are booked in January. Whoever moves with the creators' calendar gets the best ones.
Open next season's datesFrequently asked questions
How far in advance should I arrange a collaboration with a creator?
Several months before the dates you want covered. Most creators book their autumn trips during the summer and their spring trips over the winter. For videos in September the collaboration is set up in June and July; for an opening in May you start in February.
Why host creators in the low season?
Because a video does not pay off the day it goes up: it builds views over time, enters searches and gets saved, and the traveller who saves it today books two or three months later. So low season content works for the next high season.
Does a collaboration cost more in high season?
Yes, because then you are giving away a room that would have sold, so the cost is real revenue. In the weeks when you have empty rooms, hosting a creator costs very little, which is why the calendar that suits your books is the same one that suits the creators.
