Rhodes Old Town, on a cobblestone street inside the medieval walls: a family-run hotel of just 12 rooms. The bar stands on the site of the ancient Agora and has a built-in fireplace 800 years old. It is quiet here, though the taverns, restaurants, shops and bars of the Old Town begin a 3-minute walk away, past stone arches, ramparts and moats. Rooms are air-conditioned and soundproofed, with a flat-screen TV, fridge, safe, kettle, slippers and bathrobes. A garden, a sun deck and a terrace, a snack bar and a coffee house fill out the rest, and the tour desk arranges bicycle and car hire.
