The architecture is that of the Greek revolutionary period — high perimeter walls, no balconies, a private garden with courtyards — and the building stands 328 feet from Hydra Port, with the Kountouriotis Mansion 492 feet away and the island's landmarks readily reached from there. There are 9 rooms and suites, each designed on its own terms. Period furnishings and collected objects sit beside modern conveniences; renovation and fidelity to the history are treated as continuing work rather than a finished job. Beds are Simmons. Breakfast is laid out in the secluded garden under the lemon trees, classical music playing. The Greek dishes are made in-house — sweets, pies, local cheese, fresh bread.
