An old olive grove runs down to the golden sand at Trikorfo Beach, the resort spreading from the waterfront up the slopes behind, with panoramic views along the way. This is the middle of Chalkidiki, Northern Greece's premier holiday destination. The maisonettes are large and set about the gardens: a spacious lounge, a well-equipped kitchen with an oven and a microwave, satellite TV and air conditioning in each. Ceramic-tiled roofs, wooden ceilings and hand engraved furniture give them their character, and every one has a stone-paved terrace under a wooden pergola, private, opening straight onto the garden. The restaurant serves breakfast, Greek mezedes with ouzo, fresh fish and local specialties; there is a café and a bar as well, and refreshments are brought down to the organized beach, where sun beds sit under umbrellas. Children have basketball courts and 2 playgrounds, with baby safety gates and a high chair available. Tavernas, bars and shops lie within a 3-km radius. Ancient Olynthos, the famous Petralona Cave and Polygyros are all worth the trip, and a day excursion can be made to Mount Athos. Canoeing, cycling and fishing pass the time closer to home; a car can be rented, and laundry and dry cleaning are handled at the resort. Thessaloniki International Airport is 40 mi away, parking is free, and WiFi covers the whole property.
